Dear Visitor. Welcome to the Star Wharf Online wiki. I created this wikipedia to share our experiences in the game with each other and to provide a guide for new players. I think it's likely that if you've visited here, you're familiar with the game's official site. If you don't know it, you can visit it via this link : [https://starwharf.online Offical site of the Star Wharf Online]
What kind of game is Star Wharf Online (hereinafter SWO) ?
SWO is a multiplayer cooperative space strategy online 2D game (SWO could even be mentioned with additional adjectives), which is made from a mixture of some elements of the really popular games of that time, recalling the classic PC gaming era.
SWO has no special computer requirements, as it can be played from any device with an active internet connection via its browser.
The use of the game is free, which the authors also mentioned on the SWO home page:
* Free means free :
** No ads.
** No microtransactions, no loot boxes, no payments.
If you want to play with SWO, you accept the following at the same time as you register:
* [https://starwharfonline.miraheze.org/wiki/Star_Wharf_Online:PrivacyPolicy Privacy Policy]
* [https://starwharfonline.miraheze.org/wiki/Star_Wharf_Online:TermsOfService Terms of Service]
(...to avoid misunderstandings later, please read both, it's not a long description, and I think it's part of fair play...)
=== Definition of concepts ===
* '''Universe''' : The game takes place in a continuous game space, which we call the Universe. The map of the Universe can be viewed by clicking on MAP in the lower left corner.
* '''System''' : The System is a small part of the Universe, which includes several objects. The System is displayed on the entire screen, it is the active playing field that we see.
* '''Jump Gate''' : The Jump Gate makes it possible to travel between Systems.
* '''Station''' : The Station is an interactive object within the System.
* '''Planet''' : The Planet is an interactive object within the System
* '''Field''' : Some Systems have dangerous and/or practice Fields

== Major offences ==
# No multiple accounts.
# No bots.
# No scripting.
# Or face life-long ban.
Sounds fair?
We also reserve the right to ban you without explainig why.
Don't worry, this is mostly for abusers.
If you're a reasonable person, we'll probably have some form of dialog.
== Minor offences ==
This game contains elements of simulated warfare, thus, you might feel an urge to insult or provoke other players. We implore you to keep it civil, but if you absolutely must, keep those guidelines in mind:
# Do not insult actual players, keep it to their characters.
# Do not use profanities/slurs, etc.
# Keep it on-topic.
# Under no circumastances refer to real-world politics, race, gender theory, sexuality and other similar topics.
For those, we'll flag your account, but not ban it.
Still, collect enough flags and ban will follow.

# No multiple accounts.

Sounds fair?
We also reserve the right to ban you without explainig why.
Don't worry, this is mostly for abusers.
If you're a reasonable person, we'll probably have some form of dialog.
== Minor offences ==

* [https://starwharfonline.miraheze.org/wiki/Star_Wharf_Online:Universe Universe] : The game takes place in a continuous game space, which we call the Universe. The map of the Universe can be viewed by clicking on MAP in the lower left corner.
* [https://starwharfonline.miraheze.org/wiki/Star_Wharf_Online:System System] : The System is a small part of the Universe, which includes several objects. The System is displayed on the entire screen, it is the active playing field that we see.
* '''Jump Gate''' : The Jump Gate makes it possible to travel between Systems (two-way trip).
* '''Rift''' : The Rift is a one-way trip into a particular System.
* '''Station''' : The Station is an interactive object within the System.
* '''Planet''' : The Planet is an interactive object within the System
* '''Field''' : Some Systems have dangerous and/or practice Fields
* '''Ship''' : Player and non-player characters(NPC), displayed with a silhouette corresponding to their ship type
